End of Mission Letter from the MP

We received a letter from President Iwaasa that began with these profound words...

"I am pleased to report to you that Elder Ryler Jay Nielsen will successfully and honorably complete his service as a full-time missionary in the Japan Fukuoka Mission on July 24, 2009."


President Iwaasa was released from his own missionary service on July 1st and we felt very grateful to receive his handwritten note on this letter sent just before his departure:


"It has been an honor to have had the opportunity to serve with your son. Unfortunately we will already be gone when he leaves, but we very much enjoyed serving with him and know that he will be a big help to the new mission president."


Wow! Reading this letter sure makes it more of a reality! I'm still so surprised at the sad feelings I have right along with the elation and anticipation of our reunion with our precious missionary son! It really has been "the best two years" in so many ways and we will always be very grateful for the many blessings that have come into all our lives because of Elder Ryler's missionary service!
